When Bryan and I first met, one of the first things we discovered is that we share a birthday - June 14th - Flag Day. We both grew up thinking that people put out their flags because it was our birthdays. Sharing a birthday is definitely fun and unique. It only gets complicated when we both want to relax and get spoiled on the same day. There isn't anyone else in the world I would rather share a birthday with. We had a relaxing Sunday and some good family time today. Thanks to my Mom for a yummy dinner and cake and ice cream!
Jack was actually more excited for our birthdays at nearly 18 months than he was for his first birthday. He took the cake into his own hands - literally. We think he was saving the piece on his shoulder for later.
We got each other a new toy for our birthdays - a new BBQ grill. We haven't had a grill since we moved from Phoenix. We had to donate our grill to one of our neighbors when it wouldn't fit in the moving truck. We love being able to grill outside, and have already enjoyed it immensely!
The weather here has been unseasonably cool lately which has been wonderful. We have been able to spend a lot of time outside - working in the yard, playing, swinging, taking walks, and bike rides. We bought this little swing for Jack months ago, and he was scared to death of it. He would cry and cry when we even took him close to it. Just this week, he finally decided he liked it, and now loves to swing. He BEGS to swing. I guess it's just an early sign of how he will do things on his terms.
We have completely enjoyed having a Robin nest right outside our back door. This tree is literally feet from our back porch. It as been pure fun to watch both the mommy and daddy robins tend to their little eggs, and now to see them bring back food for their baby birds. Mother Nature at it's best!
