Tiger Football Heartbreaker

Our HHS Tigers made it to the state final game for the second straight year - playing the same nemisis - Juan Diego. Jack and I made the trek to Salt Lake to see the game up close and personal. (Daddy had to work.) We had fun with Matt & Kimmie and the kids. It was a defensive battle, and with 45 seconds to go, the Tigers went ahead by 4 points. There had never been such a celebration. We were actually going to win a football state championship - the first in our school history.
Our Jakon loves his football. He pays really close attention, and always wants to know if they are going to throw it, kick in, or run.
I remember pulling out my camara to document the score, and have a memory of what the final score was - 10 to 6.....with 2.9 seconds left. Those were the most horrible 2.9 seconds ever. On the final play of the game, the Juan Diego QB threw up a hail mary pass into the endzone, and his receiver actually caught it. Are you kidding me??? It was literally like the air had been sucked out the the stadium. The fans on the Hurricane side were literally in shock and stood completely still and silent for what seemed like an eternity. It was a true heartbreaker for our football boys, coaches, and our entire community. What a great ride - Tigers! We'll be back to see what happens next!
